Q. What is VaVoca?

VaVoca is a new start up in the bay area and offers an EASY and FREE way for people to post services they offer and the jobs they need help with. VaVoca is different from other job search/posting sites because:

1. it's 100% FREE to post jobs or list services
2. provides an easy way to search for people who are looking for your services or for service providers
3. there is a two-way rating system where customers can rate service providers and services providers can rate customers
4. messages can be sent via SMS text messaging and people can contact you through our website and it reaches you via SMS on your phone
5. there is no limit as to how long you can keep your posting active (keep it forever)
6. there is no membership required to use VaVoca
7. you can have multiple job postings and service listings with the same account
8. you get FREE ADVERTISING for your services and job postings

Q. How much does VaVoca cost to use?

A. NOTHING! That's right, it's free to join, list your services, post a job, search, and hire. Sometimes in life the best things really are free!

Q. In what areas can I search listings?

A. As of right now we are currently serving the Bay Area Market (SF, East Bay, North Bay, and South Bay). We have plans to expand and welcome listings in any and all markets!

Q. What does the word VaVoca mean?

A. It's sort of Latin-ish for Va meaning "Go" and Voca meaning Vocation or "Work". So in a nutshell "Go Work!" (But honestly we made it up and think it sounds pretty catchy!)

Q. How do the ratings and reviews work?

A. That's a good question. One way VaVoca is different than other job search/posting sites is that we allow a two way rating system for both the worker and the employer. This way you are able to see both sides of the story. We also base your star ratings on a series of questions that we compile into a single star rating. This adds value to the total amount of stars you receive as opposed to just an arbitrary star selection. You are also able to leave a commentary feedback paragraph describing your experience with the other user. During our initial launch phase we will be allowing users to review providers they have used in the past. This is an easy way to build your reputation initially and make yourself a more viable candidate!

Q. How do I report abuse?

A. No one likes to receive a negative review, but on occasion there may be a need to share a less than positive experience. Should you feel however, that you have a case of flagrant abuse you may send us a detailed email via our contact page.

Q. How secure is my personal information?

A. We HATE spam. Probably more than you do. You have our promise that we will never sell your personal information and we will only share your contact information with other users once you have made an agreement. You may also choose which information you would like to share as well.

Q. Can I attach images/photos to my posting?

A. We want to provide this service soon. For now, we suggest creating a Free web-album on a site such as Picasa or ShutterFly and including the link in your posting.

Q. Who started VaVoca?

A. Headquartered in San Francisco, we started as a two man (well, one woman and one man) team building off of a long term idea that it shouldn't be so hard to find quality help and that people should work smarter and be more in control of their own employment destiny.
